Can Delicious Data Save Hewlett-Packard?

And Zack doesn't mean his Delicious Data, but rather the data storage industry.
I mean, come on. Who prints nowadays? College students, who present a prodigious portion of HP's market and therefore forced into buying printer ink because their damned laptop purchases come bundled with a free printer, are snapshotting their way through academia. Add that along to the "going green" lifestyle of wealthy suburban kids and you'll see practically no one is printing. Heck, the bros are even submitting soft-copies of their essays because they're too busy riding the #2 train due to "food poisoning" from last night's keg party.

Enough about college.
When it comes to businesses, hundreds are transitioning everyday to the cloud. And where is cloud data stored? Exactly. This delicious article is saying that big data may be the messiah for HP, with IT expenditures hitting $34 billion in 2013.
Sure, HP may be the industry leader already, but it's gotta fight to keep that #1 spot, or end up losing its position to foes like EMC or NetApp.

So either HP tackles this multi-billion dollar data storage industry head-on or die a slow but sure death during this rare transitioning period of the technological era.
(... Well, there's always the $11 thousand dollar printer market.)
